I came up with the idea of making
this Lemonade gel candles set recently. It would make a lovely summertime
table accent.
I purchased Federal
Star Pitchers & drinking glasses. The Federal Star glass is
also known as Depression Glass.
The set utilizes a 2
quart pitcher and small glasses; all are wicked, but since the glass
is very old, you might want to put a little warning label which
says, "antique glassware, burn at your own risk" (If someone
wanted to actually burn the pitcher candle, it would have about
300 hours burn time, and the glasses, about 50 hours burn
time each).
I tore up small pieces
of gel for a "crushed ice effect" and even added a few
ceramic lemon slices for realism.
The gel is lemon-scented
as well.
I purchase vintage trays
to display the lemonade set, and sell them as a complete set.
These sets are a wonderful
eye-catcher at the craft shows!
You could use any high-quality,
heavy, gelsafe glassware for these, since Federal Star glassware
can be difficult to find.
